Hi All,
We just got the news, as many of you did yesterday, that Google Cloud Print will be end of life:
"...will no longer be supported as of December 31, 2020. Beginning January 1, 2021, devices across all operating systems will no longer be able to print using Google Cloud Print."
Migrate from Cloud Print to native printing - Google Chrome Enterprise Help
We are a Google shop and everyone has loved the Pharos/GCP integration. Most of our students heavily rely on this ability, Google Cloud Print to our Pharos mobile queue and we have been very happy with it for the most part, students as well. It just works!
Aside from having them email their documents as attachments to the mobile queue and/or signing in to their Pharos print center from the device they are on and uploading?
Is there anything Pharos may be working on to allow us to be able to continue to offer a similar service?
What are the Pharos Mobile Print choices for Chromebooks in the not too distant future?
Respectively,
-Dave
Dave,
We also became aware of this announcement at the same time, a couple of weeks ago. We know this workflow is valuable to many customers and we will create an alternative solution before the support for GCP expires next year. Stay tuned!
