I have a Uniprint 9.0 R2 fully patched and working fine. I need to have a subset of users on our campus allowed to print at a lower cost than standard.
I have set up a Direct Print Queue that allows for this lower cost but so far I have not found a way to limit which users can use this Direct Print Queue. (By default it seems any user with a bal in Pharos can print)
Ideally I would use an Active Directory group and at the Windows Print Queue "Security" level limit access to this "PrintControlGroup" created for this purpose, instead of the "Everyone" that is default for Windows Servers. In testing this setup, and the Direct Print dialog works perfectly for anyone who chooses to print do this discounted printer. (So Pharos does not appear to use AD Group for limiting access)
Thoughts? Is there a way to have a Pharos Direct Print Queue filter or limit who can use it based off group in Active Directory.
Or perhaps there is another way?
