I would like to know whether and if yes, when in Blueprint will be possible to connect the DB, using the domain user instead of the local one?
Thanks in advance
Blueprint version 5.2 adds support for Windows authentication for access to the database.
Know that if you do configure Blueprint 5.2 to use "Windows Authentication" for database connectivity that you will need to run the Blueprint Administrator application (either on the Analyst or as a remote installation) with a Windows account that has the same "dbo" priviileges as well. This can become burdensome from an administrative perspective. I recommend actually setting up an Active Directory group (call it Blueprint or something that makes sense), making that group the "dbo" to all of the databases, and then adding users, as needed, to the group for access.
I understand the services like Taskamaster ... mus be working under such account, I'm a right?
Yes, you are correct. It is only the TaskMaster service that requires this access. The others can safely run under LOCALSYSTEM.
Hi Scott & Tim,
Thank you for explanations.
