This is the code we used for the redirect in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\iisstart.htm.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=https://servername.university.edu/myprintcenter/">
This works fine for going to http://servername
I hope this helps!
Thanks much Gene. I tried didn't but it did not work... weird.
What I ended up doing was using the IIS config tool and edited the web.config file under the "Default site" with the follwing code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="https://myservernamehere/MyPrintCenter" exactDestination="true" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" />
Interesting enough, cached pages were still redirecting in an infinite loop. Once the cache on the browser was cleared on the client end, all worked well.
