Xerox defaults stuck on Black and White - OS X

Installs and prints in the default Black and White (Gray), but when the user selects Auto color, or Vivid color, it still prints in Black and White.

If I then edit the local PPD to use CMYK, it still defaults to Black and White, but selecting color allows them to print in color.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm building from a folder, using "Packages" to create an installer package that places the install folder in a location common to our OS X images.

The package has a postflight script that does 3 things:

- checks to see if the Xerox drivers exists on the machine, and if not, installs the Xerox drivers.

- runs the Popup installer

- removes the install folder

 

The PPD extract above is from the Xerox drivers.
