Xerox defaults stuck on Black and White - OS X

    Michael Wineke Wayfarer

Installs and prints in the default Black and White (Gray), but when the user selects Auto color, or Vivid color, it still prints in Black and White.

If I then edit the local PPD to use CMYK, it still defaults to Black and White, but selecting color allows them to print in color.

      What am I doing wrong?

I'm building from a folder, using "Packages" to create an installer package that places the install folder in a location common to our OS X images.

The package has a postflight script that does 3 things:

      - checks to see if the Xerox drivers exists on the machine, and if not, installs the Xerox drivers.

      - runs the Popup installer

      - removes the install folder

The PPD extract above is from the Xerox drivers.

          Hi Michael,

When I've seen this behavior in the past it was almost always related to the driver. In some cases, using a previous driver (for example using the Phaser 7400 driver with the 7500 printer) fixed the problem. We currently use the Xerox  WorkCentre 7835 PS driver with no problems.
