Re: Is duplexing possible in 2.0 with secure release? (without remote release)
John Siegel Mar 2, 2015 11:30 AM (in response to Kurt Albrecht)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi Kurt,
We don't use remote release. We support only secure release. We worked around that issue by creating two different emails to submit to. BWprinting@colorado.edu (configured for duplex) and BWprinting-ss (which is set up for single side simplex printing) which were set up in Mobileprint Administrator. We did the same thing for color. I've included a screen cap of the Pharos Mobileprint Administrator settings we are using. Even though we are running 2.0, the email config should be similar.
Regards,
John

Re: Is duplexing possible in 2.0 with secure release? (without remote release)
Kurt Albrecht Mar 2, 2015 1:19 PM (in response to John Siegel)I had a desire to use the [Print on both sides] button on the web release page (now known as "My Print Page") in order to facilitate duplexing, but in order for that to work we would have to have remote release enabled. My guess is that the alternative to remote release would be to pull the print job out of the queue, re-raster, and re-queue, OR use multiple venues for job submission.
Since "My Print Page" looks to be so capable as a venue for job submission, neglecting for the moment email, my great hope is that duplexing without remote release would be one of it's capabilities.

Re: Is duplexing possible in 2.0 with secure release? (without remote release)
John Siegel Mar 24, 2015 3:03 PM (in response to Kurt Albrecht)Hi Kurt,
By "duplexing without remote release" do you mean you want to still use secured release? If I understand the issue, you can disable the print capability within the Pharos Print Center (PPC), and chose color vs. B&W , or paper sizes but not simplex or Duplex?

Re: Is duplexing possible in 2.0 with secure release? (without remote release)
John Siegel Mar 24, 2015 3:11 PM (in response to Kurt Albrecht)1 of 1 people found this helpfulIs this what you meant? You should be able to choose simplex or duplex. In our environment you would choose double-sided and then release the job at any print location same as you would for a Mobileprint job.

Re: Is duplexing possible in 2.0 with secure release? (without remote release)
Kurt Albrecht Mar 25, 2015 11:12 AM (in response to John Siegel)Since we have not yet rolled out Mobile Print 2.0 with PPC, we are on 1.3 with "web release", I think that is the question.
We realized after the fact that by disabling remote release on the web release page we also disabled the ability to change from simplex to duplex - this effectively turned off duplexing for our Mobile Print submissions. One reason that it took us a while to find this out is that the duplex button remains on the web release page, thus confusing some of us who thought that the button was actually functional.
As long as the "Sides" choice actually works, we feel reassured.

John Siegel Mar 25, 2015 11:18 AM (in response to Kurt Albrecht)Cool! 2.0 fixed a lot of our Mobileprint issues. I didn't realize that the previous versions remote release was tied to the same "fuse" as duplexing\simplexing.
