    Factsubtype

    Wayfarer

      Hi,

Can anybody explain the meaning of the various Factsubtypes of the PRINT Facttype? I've searched through the manuals, but can't seem to find anything...

More specifically, I have some entries in my Device Summary report where, for the same Budget Center, different volumes are specified of Subtype Direct and Subtype Meter. But what's the difference?

      Thanks for any feedback,

      Hans

          Hans,

The Fact Subtypes for the various Fact Types are as follows:

          Fact TypeFact SubtypeDescription
PrintDirectVolume attributed to print data collected by the Pharos Blueprint Tracker (Workstation or Server) sent directly to a print device (network or local).
SecureVolume attributed to print data collected by the Pharos Blueprint Collector that was released via Secure Release Here.
MeterVolume attributed to a print meter feed and outside any volume from either Direct or Secure destinations.
CopyCopyVolume attributed to copy data collected from a Pharos terminal (Omega or Pharos iMFP).
MeterVolume attributed to a copy meter feed and outside any volume collected from a Pharos terminal.
FaxOutboundVolume attributed to outbound fax data collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal (limited make/manufacture support).
Meter OutboundVolume attributed to a outbound fax meter feed and outside any volume collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal.
Meter InboundVolume attributed to a inbound fax meter feed.
ScanScan to UnknownVolume attributed to an unspecified "scan to" destination collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal (limited make/manufacture support).
Scan to FileVolume attributed to a file "scan to" destination collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal (limited make/manufacture support).
Scan to EmailVolume attributed to an email "scan to" destination collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal (limited make/manufacture support).
Scan to DeviceVolume attributed to a device (USB thumb drive or internal device destination like a mailbox) "scan to" destination collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal (limited make/manufacture support).
Scan to DMSVolume attributed to a Document Management System "scan to" destination collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal (limited make/manufacture support).
MeterVolume attributed to a "scan to" destination meter feed and outside any scan volume collected from a Pharos iMFP terminal.
Digital PrintPrint to FileVolume attributed to a print queue that results in PDF, TIFF, or other file-based output. Pharos Blueprint Tracker for Workstation only.
Print to FaxVolume attributed to a print queue that results in a sent facsimile. Pharos Blueprint Tracker for Workstation only.
Waste SavingsPolicy PrintVolume deleted due to a violation of a Pharos Blueprint Policy Print trigger. Pharos Blueprint Tracker for Workstation only.
Secure Release HereVolume deleted due to a Secure Print Here job deletion (user-prompted or system expiration). In Pharos Blueprint 5.1 SP1.1, this Fact Subtype is expanded to differentiate between user-deleted or system-deleted jobs.

"Meter" volume requires some type of meter import. Usually this is the included "Site Monitor Lite" integration, but this only imports the Total Meter of a device, and not any submeters that may be present. So generally, any excess meter is attributed to "Print" within the Pharos Reports, and you will not see any volume assigned another "meter" subtype.

Scan volume capture requires the Pharos iMFP software be installed on the device. Currently, our Canon, HP, Ricoh, Xerox and Konica-Minolta iMFP offerings will capture scans made at the device. The Lexmark eDAS software (developed by Lexmark) also tracks device scan.

Outbound Fax volume capture is currently only supported by the Lexmark eDAS solution.

          I hope that this helps.

          Respectfully,

          Scott Olswold
