A few quesions about Pharos Signup (PC Reservation System)

    Richard Post Guide
      1. What components of Signup are web-based?
      2. Does Signup have any reporting functionality?
      3. Can you restrict booking on certain computers? If so, what are the parameters you can restrict by?

          Web based?

Signup has an administrative component called Nerve Center which allows staff to make, modify, and cancel reservations.  It also shows the status of the computers and gives the capability to create or modify users as well as send messages or expel users from a PC.

There is another web component of Signup which can be placed on an overhead monitor to show the upcoming reservations (like the DMV).

Users make reservations on a Pharos PC Station that is setup as a Reservation Station.  This is not a web based application.  It runs as a dedicated PC in as many places as determined by the customer.

          Reports?

There are 10 reports built into the Pharos Reports application.   Reports include details about usage by user, group, and computer, as well as a few others.

          Restrictions?

Computers can be restricted by group membership as well as time.  You can also setup computers with a block reservation that will reserve a bunch for a class or training and not allow normal users to logon during that time.
