While I wasn't here for the implementation discussion, I have been come up to speed with our implementation and rebuilt our servers into a clustered environment. I may be able to help with some of your questions.
We are running with blackboard cardswipe integration, although that infrastructure is hosted by a different group at the school.
Our school (Brigham Young University - Idaho) runs Pharos and I'd be willing to conference regarding design and policy decisions.
We used to have a Blackboard system (but not anymore) but we didn't ever integrate with our Pharos system. We have a Diebold (CBord) accounting system that we connect to (by gateway) for card swipe integration for users to pay for their jobs. I wouldn't be able to help with Blackboard integration, but would be willing to help with other considerations.
We're in the process of rollout here at UCSC, and while it has been successful there have been some hitches on the Pharos side, and some planning I'd've wanted now to do beforehand that have come up (mainly in learning Pharos and in getting the information out to our customers with a longer lead-in).
We do not use Blackboard; we have CBORD on campus, but have no reason to integrate.
I'll be glad to participate in a design/policy discussion.

We've had Pharos here at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for 5-6 years now (I'm soon strting my 3d year with it). We use a gateway to CBORD for billing for printing. I'd be glad to answer some of your questions if you wouldn't mind sending them to me. Conference calls don't usually fit my schedule very well.

We implemented Pharos 8.0 in August of 2008. If you have specific questions, feel free to contact me and I would freely share what we've learned in our environment.

PLNU has had Pharos intergrated with Blackboard (windows version) setup for that last 2 years. There are quit a few details and decisions you will need to make to effectively deploy Pharos. Feel free to email me a time we can chat to review what is your goal/concerns.

The University of Nebraska Kearney uses Pharos integrated with CBORD gateway for about 10 years. Personally, I have been the Admin for the last 2-3 years. Feel free to contact me, I don't know how much I could help with the setup but I am willing to share deployment ideas.

We run Pharos 8.1 here at University of Colorado Boulder, and interface with CBORD on the back end. We first used Pharos in 2003 along with the Blackboard bank. We have a mixed environment that includes printers and multifunction devices. Using card swipes and Pharos Omega PS150's, the students use the system for both printing and copying. We support 64 different locations and 100 plus printers/MFD's across campus, as well as several that are off campus. We have a web site that allows users to download printer packages so they can print to any location from their own hardware.
I have been here since 2003 and have been the Pharos system administrator. If you can give me a couple days notice, I can be available to answer any questions you might have. Over the years the Pharos system has been pretty solid, most of our issues have been with documents, usually version compatability problems; i.e. a class syllibus that was created using Adobe Acrobat 5, and doesn't print correctly using Reader 10.
