In an effort to support customers that have mixed domain configurations where the DNS domain differs from the user domain, we have added an optional configuration variable that can be set to override the domain the Print Scout is configured with.
Note: This feature only applies to new installations of the Windows Print Scout. There is no upgrade path for existing Print Scouts.
Example customer configuration:
USERDNSDOMAIN = corp.demo.local
USERDOMAIN = CORPNET
To enable the override of a domain for a Print Scout:
- Download the Print Scout installation Package (from the Discover > Print Scout screen). The package includes the Setup.ini file.
- Open Setup.ini in a text editor such as Notepad
- Add the line Domain=domain_name where Domain specifies the domain name that you want to use for Secure Print.
- In the above example this would be Domain=corp.demo.local
Note: When the domain value is set, it replaces the local machine name and then sends domain\username rather than computer\username as the user ID.
