We’re happy to announce that Service Pack 1 for Pharos Uniprint 9.1 is now available! You can download and install SP1 automatically via the Updater Service in the Pharos Administrator. If your server infrastructure is not connected to the internet, please refer to this page for detailed instructions on how to manually update your system. This release includes all prior updates and it introduces several new features and improvements, including:
Support for server load balancing
If your print servers are under heavy load, you may wish to implement a load balancing solution to enhance the performance, reliability and scalability of your Uniprint system. In case of a server failure, print jobs and other requests are automatically routed to other servers. For more information on this feature, please refer to: Technote: Uniprint Load Balancing.
Self-registration for Google Cloud Print workflows
The Google Cloud Print (GCP) service is popular in schools and libraries that require support for Chromebooks. Uniprint 9.1 introduced support for GCP workflows - all print jobs submitted through the Google Cloud Print service are recorded and managed just like standard Uniprint jobs. If self-registration is enabled after installing SP1, students will receive a self-registration email if they're not already configured for GCP. Cost center management in Print Center
A new Cost Center interface in Print Center makes it easier to manage cost center assignments. Adding this functionality to Print Center is part of our ongoing effort to make all Pharos Remote functionality available in the Print Center web interface, for improved convenience and usability.
