    How to activate Sentry Print

     

    After Print Scouts are deployed to workstations, a print user can launch the Pharos Sentry Print Setup Guide from their Start menu. This wizard guides users through activating Sentry Print on their workstation and mobile device.

    Note: Users can also launch the Sentry Print Setup Guide from the email invitation they receive. The invitation contains a link to the Setup Guide. It is important that a user opens the email from the workstation on which the Print Scout is installed.

     

    Activating mobile device for Sentry Print

    Before you can use your mobile device to release documents, you must first activate it with Sentry Print.

    Step 1: Printing a Test Page

    1. From your workstation, click the link on your invitation email to run the Pharos Sentry Print Setup Guide. Alternatively, search for 'Pharos Sentry Print Setup Guide' from the Start menu on your workstation. This will guide you through setting up your mobile device for Sentry Print.
    2. Select Mobile as your release method.
    3. Click Start to begin the setup wizard.
    4. Click on Print test page. Make sure that Pharos Secure Printer is selected.
    5. Click Print. Your document will be held for printing. Clicking Next will take you to the Activate your Mobile Device screen.

    Step 2: Activating Pharos Sentry Print App

    1. Download and install the Pharos Sentry Print App on your mobile device. You can download the app from the Apple or Google Play Store.
    2. Using your mobile device, scan the QR code shown by the Setup Guide on your computer. You will get a 4-digit PIN code.
    3. Enter the 4-digit PIN code shown on your mobile app into the Setup Guide.

    1. Your mobile device is now registered.
    2. Walk up to a Sentry Print enabled printer and then using your mobile device, scan the QR code attached to the printer to release the test page.

     

    Activating proximity card for Sentry Print

    Step 1: Printing a test page

    1. From your workstation, run the Pharos Sentry Print Setup Guide
    2. Select Proximity Card as your release method.
    3. Click Start to begin the setup wizard.
    4. Click Print test page. Make sure that Pharos Secure Printer is selected.
    5. Click Print. Your document will be held for printing. Clicking Next will take you to the Activate Your Proximity Card screen.
    6. Click Next to complete the activation.

     

    Step 2: Activating your proximity card

    1. Walk up to any secure printer to activate your proximity card.
    2. Swipe your card and enter your network ID when prompted.
    3. Once activated, a test page will be printed. Subsequent print jobs can be released from any secure printer in the organization.

     

    If you have a registration code

    Note: This workflow is available only for sites with SR25 Hardware attached to their printers.

     

    A user swipes his/her proximity card at a secure printer (with SR25 hardware attached) for the first time. A document showing  a one-time registration code is printed. Entering the code into their workstation will register the user's card.

    1. From your workstation, run the Pharos Sentry Print Setup Guide by searching for Pharos Sentry Print Setup Guide from the Start menu on your workstation.
    2. Select Proximity Card as your release method.
    3. Click the I have a registration code link.

    1. Enter the registration code shown on the printout and then click Next.

    1. Your proximity card is now registered.  You can now release your documents to any secure printer in the organization.

     

    Creating a PIN

    Sentry Print offers a quick and easy way to release your documents using the keypad console of your printer. Instead of entering a lengthy password, you can set up a PIN to release your job from any secure printer.

    To create a PIN:

    1. Walk up to a secure printer.
    2. Enter your network ID and password when prompted.
    3. Select "Create PIN."
    4. Enter a 4-digit numeric PIN.
