Different types of Performance Support (Help) are accessible from within the application. The performance support available includes the Community, Contextual Help for select pages and dialogs, and Tool Tips.
Note: To permit access to all help areas, the browser must allow pop-ups.
The community provides access to the user documentation describing application features and functionality, as well as a place for Beacon users to ask questions, search answers, and connect with other Beacon users. The community is accessed through the question mark within a circle icon located in the upper right hand corner of Beacon. You can also click on the word Community. A new tab will open with a login to the Pharos Community. Once you have logged in, this link will then take you to the Beacon Forum. This area is only visible to other Beacon users. To dismiss the community, simply close the tab or window.
Contextual Help is available for select pages and dialogs within the application and is accessed through the question mark within a circle icon. Contextual Help provides information on the specific page or dialog from which the help icon is selected. The icon may be located below the navigation bar on an individual screen or within a dialog box. These links will take you to a public portion of the Pharos Community. Here you can search for more information on the topic of interest, or find a link to the private Forum. To dismiss the Contextual Help, you can easily close the tab or window.
Note: If you have accessed the Pharos Community via the Community link at the top of Beacon, you will need to click on Beacon Documentation from the Forum area or search for Beacon Documentation in the Community.
Tool tips, or Hover Text, are provided for menu tabs and select buttons. When the mouse is paused over a tool tip enabled menu tab or button, additional informational text is displayed. To dismiss the tool tip instructional text, move the mouse so that it is not over a tool tip enabled menu tab or button.
